Information we handle
When you email us: we receive your email address, the name you provide, your message and any attachments. We use this information to respond to enquiries, consider topic suggestions and investigate corrections. Please avoid sending private conversations, information about other people or sensitive details that are not necessary for your enquiry.
When you visit: our hosting infrastructure can process technical information such as your IP address, requested pages, request time, browser information, referring page and error information. This supports delivery of the website, security, troubleshooting and server operation. It does not mean that we know your name or identity from an ordinary visit.
Why we use information
We use information to operate and protect the website, respond to messages, maintain the accuracy of our publication and deal with legal obligations where applicable. Where UK or European data protection law applies, our usual basis for these activities is our legitimate interest in running a secure publication and responding to people who contact us, balanced against their rights. Processing necessary to meet a legal obligation relies on that obligation. If we introduce an activity that requires consent, we will request it before starting that activity.
Cookies and website features
WordPress and our hosting or caching tools may use cookies or similar technical features where needed for login, security and website operation. Administrator login cookies are used for authorised site management. Your browser lets you inspect, block or remove cookies; blocking necessary cookies may affect functions such as signing in.
At this launch, we have not enabled Google Analytics, advertising pixels, newsletter registration, public comments, visitor accounts, contact forms or an AI chatbot. The contact links open your email application. We will update this notice and introduce any required choices before adding optional tracking or new data-collection features.
Search performance
We use Google Search Console to review reports about how the site appears in Google Search, including search queries, impressions and clicks. This setup uses a site-verification tag; it does not install Google Analytics on this website. Google describes these reports in its Search Console documentation.
Service providers and sharing
Hostinger provides our website hosting. Technical data and website backups may be processed through its infrastructure and service providers. See Hostinger’s privacy policy and data processing terms for information about its processing arrangements.
Our email services also process messages so that we can receive and reply to enquiries. Information may be disclosed where necessary to meet a lawful request, protect the site or resolve a dispute. We do not sell personal information. We do not publish the contents of a private enquiry as a personal story without permission.
Service providers may process information outside your country. Where applicable data protection law requires safeguards for international transfers, the relevant provider arrangements must include an appropriate transfer mechanism. Contact us if you need more information about the providers involved in your enquiry.
How long information is kept
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to answer the enquiry, complete any follow-up and maintain a necessary record of a correction or unresolved issue. Longer retention may be necessary for an ongoing complaint, dispute or legal obligation. We do not need to keep every attachment or personal detail simply because it was sent to us.
Technical logs and backups follow the hosting service’s retention and replacement processes. Backup copies may remain until the relevant backup expires or is replaced, even after information has been removed from the active website. Retention depends on the purpose, whether the matter is resolved and any applicable legal requirements; contact us about a specific record.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies and the circumstances, you may have rights to access your personal information, correct it, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing or request a portable copy. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. These rights are subject to legal conditions and are not absolute.
Send requests to hello@everydaywording.com. We may need enough information to verify that the request concerns you. You can also complain to your relevant data protection authority; in the UK this is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
